Pele made money-man

Abedi Ayew Pele has been given the task of filling the Ghana FA's coffers after he was named chairman of the Marketing and Sponsorship committee. Former Black Stars captain Abedi, named Ghana soccer ambassador by the government as well as being a member of the Football Association, is expected to use his wide international connections to secure sponsors for the national teams.

His committee is one of the 18 named by Ghanaian football's new boss Benjamin Kouffie, as he grapples with the task of steering Ghana out of soccer doldrums and lay a solid foundation for the dream of guiding the Black Stars to the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany.

However the Black Stars are seeking a fifth African Nations Cup triumph first in Mali next year with the backing of a strong technical committee headed by Professor S K Ansah, with coaches Fred Osam Duodu, Kwasi Afranie and Sam Ardey as members.
