Paintsil backs Boateng to succeed at Fulham

Former Fulham defender John Paintsil is backing midfielder Derek Boateng to succeed at the English Premier League side.

Boateng signed for the Craven Cottage outfit last month after a frustrating spell at Ukrainian side FC Dnipro.

He agreed one-year deal with the East London side with an option for a further year.

Boateng's international teammate Pantsil, who made 75 appearances for Fulham during his three-year stay, believes the experienced midfielder has made the right move.

"Is a great move and Fulham is a good team and especially when an African player moves there, they really take good care of the player," said Paintsil.

"There he will get much playing time which will help him and the national team, with the exposure and experience he will succeed.

"His move there is good for Ghana, for himself and friends and I believe he will make a positive impact there," he said.
