PLB postpones three premier league matches

The Professional League Board (PLB) has postponed matches involving clubs that have contributed three or more players to the senior national team Black Stars for their impending World Cup qualifier against Sudan on Sunday July 15.

A statement signed by the Deputy General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said the decision thus affects the ninth week Star Premier League matches involving Hearts/Hasaacas in Accra, Goldfields/King Faisal in Obuasi and Kotoko/ Adansiman scheduled for Kumasi. All other matches would go ahead as scheduled

He said clubs, whose players have been invited, are requested to co-operate fully with the F A and release them to Coach Osam Duodu, head coach of the Black Stars for all this important match, warning that any club which fails to release its players would be sanctioned.

The following are local players invited to start camping on Monday, July 9. Goalkeepers: Osei Boateng (Kotoko), James Nanor (Hearts) Defenders: Isaac Owusu (Kotoko), Hamza Mohammed (RTU) Jacob Nettey, Amankwa Mireku (Hearts) Yaw Owusu, Kenneth Ababio, Kofi Amoaku, Princeton Owusu-Ansah, (Goldfields) George Essilfie Fatau (Olympics).

Midfielders: Godwin Ablordey (Kotoko) Charles Taylor (Hearts) Amino Musah, Amo Stephen (Goldfields) Strikers: Nana Frimpong (Kotoko) Issah Mohammed (Hasaacas) Emmanuel Osei Kuffour (Hearts) Isaac Boakye, Nana Arhin-Duah (Goldfields).
