Owusu-Abeyie nears Crystal Palace deal

Newly-promoted English Premiership side Crystal Palace have emerged as the front runners to sign Ghana winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie.

Abeyie, 27, and former Rapid Viena striker Atdhe Nuhiu, 23, were in fantastic form for Palace in their 2-1 friendly win over Dangenham on Saturday, and coach Ian Holloway seems ready to offer them a deal.

The ex-Arsenal man set up Nuhiu’s first goal and both are expected to feature again when the Glaziers take on Gillingham on Tuesday.

Cardiff City are also keen on signing Owusu-Abeyie, but it is now very certain that he and Nuhiu will be offered a contract by Palace.

The former Ajax Amsterdam player has never being a settled player which has seen him play for clubs such as Malaga, Al Sadd, Celta Vigo, Spartak Moscow, Cardif City, Birmingham and others.
