Players of former Premier League side Okwawu United together with their technical staff are in line to bag in over One Hundred Million Cedis should they qualify for the elite division next season.

The Assase-Aban lads, who suffered relegation to the National Division League last year will be facing Tudu based Mighty Jets, Abedi Pele’s F.C Nania and former Premiership side Ghapoha now Great Mariner in the Zone three Middle League in an all-play-all affair with the winner earning an automatic qualification to the elite division.

In an interview with the interim Chairman of the club, Francis Anom, last Friday, he confirmed that the current management in a bid to secure qualification to the Premiership next season, has promised each member of the playing body an amount of One Million Cedis as winning bonus per each game with the technical team taking double of the same amount, therefore Two Million Cedis. He added that aside this package, both the playing body and the technical staff will receive an additional qualification bonus with all amounting over One Hundred Million Cedis. Asked whether all twenty-five members of the playing body who are currently in camp ahead of the competition which has been scheduled to kicks-off next Wednesday, will received the amount, Mr. Anom, who together with the massive support of the club’s various mountains, said “for now the package will only cover the eighteen players who will be making the grade for every game alongside the five technical team”.

But added that management will see to it that players who are selected into the final eighteen, will also be presented with a meaningful package equal to that of their colleagues.

The competition, which has also taken a new format this season, will also see clubs like, Lepo Stars, Catholic Stars, Aduana Stars and Wa Real United, which is owned by GFA Chairman Kwesi Nyantakyi, in Zone 1.

However, joining Okwawu United and Great Mariners to fight for a Premiership return are for elite division sides, Sekondi Eleven Wise and Prestea Mine Stars, who will be facing Kessben F.C and Samartex in Zone 2.
