Otto Pfister is the new head coach of Cameroon

Pfister will lead the four-time African champions at next year's Nations Cup finals in Ghana.

The 69-year-old German guided Togo in what turned out to be a chaotic World Cup debut for the Hawks in Germany last year.

He is currently in charge of Sudanese club El Merreikh.

Pfister takes over from Jules Nyongha who had been interim coach for several months since the departure of previous boss Arie Haan.

Dutchman Haan quit his post in February.

Pfister is expected to take charge of the Indomitable Lions after the African Confederation Cup next week between El Merreikh and Tunisia's CS Sfaxien.

The two-time Saudi Arabia coach has worked in African football for 25 years, with spells in Zaire, Tunisia, Ghana and Egypt.
