Oscar draw with Maxbees at Kpando

Kpando (V/R) July 27 - GNA - Oscar FC drew goalless with Suhum Maxbees in their maiden Division One League match played at the Kpando Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Oscar F/C, which metamorphosed from House of Lions, the feeder team of sensational Heart of Lions dominated the match but failed to score as their attackers fluffed chance after chance.

The Kpando team re-enacted the near misses of Kotoko the previous weekend as they slammed shots at the woodwork on three occasions and fired many shots over the top when they had the goal on sight. In a post match interview, coach Ken Botchway who had vowed to emulate Heart of Lions by taking his boys to the premiership at the first attempt said though his boys failed to score he was satisfied with their performance.

He said he had very little time to work the team to peak form before the commencement of the league as he indulged in a three week recruitment exercise which left him with no time to sharpen the tactical formations of team before the league commenced.

Coach Botchway said he was confident his team would be unstoppable from the third week and called on the people of the Kpando District to support them by patronising and supporting them at home to enable them to achieve their goal.

He promised to achieve a positive result in their next match against Diamond Stars at Akwatia.
