Opoku’s tenth goal earns VVV vital point at Telstar

Red hot Ghanaian forward Jonathan Opoku bagged his tenth goal of the campaign to snatch a very late point for VV Venlo in the Dutch Erste league.

The prolific attacker capped a very productive night for his promotion-chasing side with the second goal in a thrilling 2-2 drawn game at Telstar.

The former Oss and Vendom forward joined VVV at the start of the 2015/16 European season but has championed their promotion crusade with an impressive 10 goals in his opening 28 games despite playing as an auxiliary striker.

Venlo headed into the fixture with the hope of reducing the point tally between themselves and the runway leaders Spartha but ended up dropping valuables away to Telstar in the Netherland second tier.

The rampant set a new personal record of scoring for the fourth time in a row but was denied all three points thanks to very late strike from their guest.

The 25 year old has now scored against Dordrecht, Helmond, NAC, and Telstar in succession to seal second place for his rejuvenated VVV.
