In-form Ghanaian striker Johnathan Opoku scored a brace to propel VVV Venlo to a 4-3 win over RKC Waalwijk in the Dutch second-tier league on Monday night.

The 25-year-old came off the bench before the start of the second-half and perpetuated his impressive scoring run for Venlose trots.

Opoku raced to connect home a pass just after the hour mark before he won the tie for Venlo after the game had been tied.

The striker who was born to a Ghanaian parent in the Netherlands but has neither featured for the European country nor the West African giants could attract the attention of Ghana coach Avram Grant.

He has now scored 11 goals in the current campaign for Venlo who are ten points behind leaders Sparta Rotterdam.
