"Opeele" Boateng denies move to Kotoko

Accra, Jan 14, GNA - Isaac "Opeele" Boateng, head coach of Premier League side, Tema Youth has played down media speculations linking him to defending league champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Speaking to the GNA Sports, the coach said the speculation was an attempt to spark controversy by the media and to distract his attention from his present assignment with Tema Youth.

According to coach Opeele the distraction was aimed at distracting the focus of Tema Youth, which is currently placed among the best four in the Glo Premiership.

"I believe they want to divert our attention from the League because we are doing so well but we will remain focused for the task ahead". The coach added. Coach Boateng noted that some media speculations have also linked him to Hearts of Oak as well, adding that "there have not been any of such moves".

Asked whether he will fancy a move to any of the two clubs, the coach said "it is the dream of every football personality to associate himself with Kotoko or Hearts but there have not been any of such moves by me".

The coach maintained that he has a contract with Tema Youth and his major focus is to ensure the smooth execution of the contract. Coach Boateng noted that he was committed to the contract between him and Tema Youth hence he will ensure its implementation. On speculations of a possible match of convenience between Tema Youth and newly promoted Bechem Chelsea at the Sunyani Coronation Park in the Seventh Week league game, the coach declined to comment on it. The speculations were due to the fact that the President of Bechem Chelsea also doubles as a shareholder of Tema Youth. "I have already made it clear to all that I will not comment on the match and I want to stick by my earlier position", he stated.
