Olympics focused for next season.

Accra, May 2, GNA - The Chairman of the Board of Directors, of Accra Great Olympics, His Excellency, Amarkai Amarteifio has congratulated the players, the technical team and the management of the club for their resilience and performance throughout the just ended Premier League.

H.E. Amarteifio whos is also the Swedish Consular in Ghana assured the numerous supporters of the Wonder Club that the team was resolutely focused for honours in the coming season. The Board Chairman's vision was contained in a statement he issued in Accra on Wednesday.

"Even though the season was plagued with several problems, both administrative and financial, the confidence and performance of the team is encouraging and laudable, considering where we are coming from," he said.

Accra Great Olympics, one of the topmost teams in the country, suffered relegation in the 2005 season, but bounced back immediately in glorious fashion and went on to vindicate its status as a formidable club in the history of Ghana football.

The statement said "as the club crosses its 53rd anniversary and proceeds confidently into the future, the Patrons, Board and all Stakeholders are convinced that given the discipline and dedication exhibited by all, Olympics will crown the coming season with great achievements and honour, to the memory of the founding fathers." H.E. Amarteifio disclosed that the Board was in consultation with all the appropriate organs of the club and would soon map out modalities for the institution of relevant, effective structures to address the financial and management problems.

"As we march confidently towards our 54th Anniversary next year, the time is ripe to run Olympics on sound Administrative and Economic principles that will ensure its strength and viability for the future," the Board Chairman added.
