Hearts of Oak midfielder Ollenu Ashitey has hit back at the media for putting out untrue stories he put in a transfer request.
Before the local transfer window shut, the talented player was reported to have requested to leave and he was linked with a move to rival club Asante Kotoko.
Ashitey has one year left of his contract and remains with club.
"I never said I was leaving the club, I cannot do anything of such magnitude as Hearts of Oak have done so much for me as a player since I joined,” the 21-year-old told Hearts News.
"Those rumours were never true and I blame the media for spreading out this bad news with the intent of causing bad publicity me and the fans of the club."
