Odartey receives approval to play in premiership

Former national star, Nii Odartey Lamptey has finally received clearance to feature in the premiership and is expected to make his league debut on Sunday when Kumasi Asante Kotoko play Liberty Professionals in match-day-13 of the GT premier league.

Odartey who has agreed a one-year deal with Kotoko got authorization to play in the Ghanaian premiership after officials of Asante Kotoko received his International Transfer Certificate ? ITC, from the Dubai football federation last Saturday.

Odartey made his Kotoko bow on Friday when the porcupine warriors beat archrivals, Accra Hearts of Oak 1-0 to lift the president?s cup on Ghana?s republic day.

Meanwhile, another ex-national star, Mallam Yahaya, who is also awaiting his ITC before completing a deal with Kotoko is expected to leave for Europe on Wednesday.

Reports indicate that Yahaya would be undergoing trials with a European club with the view to a permanent move.
