Oblogo River Boyz Beat Surprising Stars

Oblogo, (GAR) Jan. 26 GNA - Oblogo River Boyz Football Club in the Ga District of the Greater Accra Region grabbed the three maximum points at stake when they beat visiting Surprising Stars of Bubuashie 2-1 at Oblogo in their second division league encounter on Sunday.

The first half saw a balanced game but Surprising Stars sprang into action after the recess when despite playing with 10 men, they managed to take the lead from the boot of Striker Ibrahim Issaka in the 60th minute.

In the 70th minute, River Boys striker, David Nkrumah controlled a loose ball and raised into the visitors goal area where he delivered a powerful shot to snatch the equaliser for the homesters.

Aaron Baah of River Boyz was on hand to increase the tally for his side with a last minute goal when he capitalised on a defensive blunder to slot in the match winner in the 87th minute.

Excellent officiating exhibited by Referee Osam Quaye of Premier Division side attracted a lot of commendation from both players as well as the spectators after the match.

Isaac Arhinful of Suprising Stars caused the downfall of his team when he struck an opponent in the full glare of the referee who automatically showed him the red card in the 10th minute.
