Obed Ansah needs $7,000 for surgery

Fans of Accra Hearts of Oak who are expecting to see their mercurial midfielder Obed Ansah on the field will have to wait a little longer.

The player, who has been out of action since the beginning of this season, needs the sum of $7,000 for surgery of his groin injury, according the club’s medical team.

A source close to the team revealed that the player and a high powered medical team visited the club’s Asylum Down secretariat yesterday for further assessment of the injury and ways to raise funds for the surgery.

According to the source, the player could play, but for a short period owing to the degree of the injury. He had therefore been advised to stay away from the pitch until proper medication was administered.

Ansah, a former player of Heart of Lions and Black Meteors, had in the past few seasons been instrumental in the Phobian set up.
