OFFICIAL: Kotoko To Honour Hasaacas Clash

Asante Kotoko Asante Kotoko

Contrary to media speculation that Kotoko will not honour Sunday’s match day 29 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League match against Hasaacas but would rather seek a court injunction on the league, the Board of Directors and Management of the club has announced no such decision has been taken.

Press statement from the Board of Directors and Management of the club which was signed by Communications and Media Relations Manager, Kwaku Ahenkorah, called for calm while announcing that the club would not take any hasty decision.

It urged Kotoko supporters to exercise restraint as the leadership of the club was bent on getting the decision of the Ghana Football Association (GFA)’s disciplinary committee overturned.

Below is the full text of press statement released on Friday afternoon.

The Board of Directors and Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have resolved to exhaust the adjudicating processes of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in an attempt to seek justice in the Obed Owusu-unqualified player impasse.

After careful deliberations and consultations it has become necessary that the club does not take a hasty approach to the situation and that begins with the appeal filed on Thursday.

Leaders of the club could have taken a more drastic decision which could have plunged the league season into turmoil but we need to be calm. That is not to say the club has grown weak over the issue.

We are rather guided by the tendency to lose focus and end up the vanquished side in a case we are very sure of winning at the Appeals Committee.

All we care about is the restoration of our six points and we strongly believe we are on the right path to reclaiming those points.

We entreat our supporters to be calm and trust the judgement of the people mandated to manage the club as we plan for the remaining matches in the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League.

We will not rest until the points have been restored.

Fabulous, the Greatest!

Thank you.

Kwaku Ahnekorah

Communications and Media Relations Manager
