Nyarko back at Everton as Monaco move collapses

Everton midfielder Alex Nyarko will resume training with the premier league club this weekend after a proposed loan move to Monaco collapsed.

The Ghanaian international, who joined Everton from Lens a year ago, was set for a return to the French first division after being placed on the transfer list at Goodison Park.

Everton Chief Executive Michael Dunford, however, told the club's website: "The proposed loan move to Monaco has not materialised and Alex Nyarko will return to training at Everton this weekend."

Nyarko's future at Everton has been in doubt ever since an angry fan ran on to the pitch at Highbury and remonstrated with the bemused 27 year-old during a 4-1 defeat against Arsenal in April.

Nyarko asked to be substituted immediately - an action that manager Walter Smith did not look kindly upon given Everton's precarious premier league position at the time.

His problems escalated when he failed to show up for pre-season training last Monday and a further non-appearance could result in additional disciplinary action.
