Nyantakyi to inspect Swazi facilities

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi and his vice, Fred Pappoe will lead a strong delegation including their national team to inspect local facilities ahead of the 2010 World Cup to ascertain whether they can use the country for their pre-World Cup camp base next year.

The delegation, which is already based in Nelspruit, South Africa will arrive in the country on Tuesday through the Ngwenya Border Post to inspect the country’s facilities, including training pitch and hotels to use before proceeding to Nelspruit where they will be based for the global showpiece next year. The delegation is made up of 45 people in whole.

That country’s national team, otherwise known as the ‘Black Stars,’ will further engage in a pre-AFCON match against ‘The Flames’ of Malawi at the Mavuso sports centre on Tuesday evening at 7:30pm.

National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu, making the announcement at Sigwaca House on Thursday, mentioned that his office has done its part in as far as bringing the Ghanaians and the Malawians in the country is concerned.

He urged local soccer spectators to grab this once in a lifetime opportunity of watching a galaxy of stars take to the field of play in local shores on the evening.

He also mentioned that they should be in the best of behaviours during the game to make sure that the visitors are impressed with the country and its people and entice them to finally set up their pre-World Cup camp in the country. The Ghanaians are expected in the country at mid-day on Tuesday while the Malawians are expected to arrive in the country Saturday afternoon.
