No new contract for Coach Zito

The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has failed to renew the contract of Coach Karim Zito after his one year contract with the club elapsed at the end of this soccer season.

A statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs of the club Mr Jarvis Peprah indicated that the Management held separate meetings with Coach Emmanuel Akwasi Afranie and Karim Zito at the club's secretariat in Kumasi where the decision was taken.

According to the statement the meeting which was to enable management make an informed decision with regards to the restructuring of the technical team for next season also recommended Coach E.K Afranie to the Board for approval as the substantive technical manager of the club.

It will be recalled that Coach Karim Zito was released to Kotoko by Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy upon a request by Kotoko to assist former Head coach Malik Jabir. Zito took over the job as Head coach of the club after Malik Jabir was sacked by the Kotoko management.

Coach Afranie took over as a stop-gap coach of the club after armed robbers attacked Zito in Accra and aided Kotoko win its 20th league title this season
