No increase in Africa slots for 2010 WC

FIFA have released slot allocations for the 2010 World Cup to be hosted by South Africa.

Africa got five slots while the host South Africa has one slot. Europe were awarded 13 slots while Asia and Oceana each got five slots. South, North and Central America will share eight slots.

Slots, are the number of countries from each continent of the World that will participate in the FIFA World Cup this year.

Last year five African Countries participated in the World Cup hosted by Germany.

They were namely Ghana, Angola, Ivory Coast, Togo and Tunisia.

It was also announced that the FIFA World Cup would kick off on June 11 and the finals would be on July 11.
