The ministry, in the past seven years, has had eight minsters at the helm of affairs. With the exception of the Ningo-Prampram MP E.T. Mensah, who lasted 8 years at the ministry , none of the last 13 politicians appointed in the last 15 years have been able to go beyond two years at the ministry.

Many have attributed their unsuccessful stints to a purported mafia at the ministry.

Speaking to Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday, the former deputy local government minister said the present minister must not suffer the fate of his predecessors .

“He should and must survive. We should all support him to succeed. How come nobody is surviving there, it is not right. Nii Lante must succeed.” he said.
