Nii Adjei wins day for Kotoko

Kumasi, Oct. 17, GNA - A last minute goal scored by striker Daniel Nii Adjei enabled Kumasi Asante Kotoko to clinch a hard fought 2-1 victory over visiting Real Tamale United (RTU) in their seventh week Glo Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi on Sunday.

Nii Adjei the back of the net after RTU's goalkeeper John Adtetey was completely beaten from a perfect 25-metre-free kick.

Officials and players of RTU protested vehemently against the goal but referee J. Abenya stood to his gun.

Kotoko scored their first goal in the 25th minute through enterprising Alex Asamoah when a recieved a pass from veteran midfielder Stephen Oduro in a counter attack after the visitors had hit the side posts in the 24th minute.

RTU fought hard and got the equalizer in the 77th minute through Mohammed Hassan with a header after Sumaila Nyaya had hit the cross bar with a shot in a goalmouth melee just after Kotoko had resorted to defensive play.
