Nigerian Clubs scramble for Joetex Frimpong

...Rangers, Enyimba in race for league’s top scorer

League highest goal scorer, Joetex Frimpong who wore the shirts of El-Kanemi of Maiduguri is beginning to reap the benefits of his splendid performance in the just concluded league season as first division teams are fighting to have him in their fold next year.

League champions, Enyimba, Niger Tornadoes and Rangers are in line to woo the former Gabros of Nnewi striker. Enyimba made inquiries about him after the last game of the league in Aba. They want to use him to boost their attacking line for next year’s African Champions League.

Enyimba are not leaving anything to chance in a bid to do well in the Champions League after their ouster in the hands of Ivorian club, ASEC Mimosas. Club Chairman Felix Anyasi has said that the team will get the best players anywhere in the world.

“ We would get the best players around so that Enyimba can move beyond the preliminaries of the competition”.

Niger Tornadoes are also looking for him to boost their attacking options in the league. He is one of the players that are been wooed to stage a return to the club who gave him the opportunity to play big time football.

Rangers will play in the CAF Cup next year and Joetex Frimpong is one of the players officials of the club want to wear the jersey of the team.

According to an official of the Enugu side, Frimpong is one of the players that will feature prominently for the team next season.

“ We want him to join us because he is one of the very good strikers in the country. If we can get him, it will be a major boost for us in our quest to conquer Africa and Nigeria next year”.
