Nigeria's coach tips Ghana

Nigerian national team coach, Berti Vogts, has picked Nations Cup hosts Ghana as the marginal favourites of the four big guns to win Africa's flagship football tournament next year.

The Super Eagles coach, whose experimental team were one penalty away from a famous victory over Copa America bronze medallists Mexico in Juarez on Sunday, listed four teams with valid claims on the trophy.

"It will be a very tough tournament," Berti told KICK OFF exclusively. "You have good teams like Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Cameroon. But I think maybe Ghana are the favourites to win."

But he was adamant that his wards will be set up to prove him wrong.

"We have to make the team strong and bring competition. It is not going to be easy, and we need to have hungry players who can fight all the time."

Vogts is expected to be in Ghana this weekend for the African Nations Cup draw.
