New Edubiase maintain home winning record

Bekwai, Jan. 09, GNA - New Edubiase United maintained their home winning record when they beat visiting Kpando Heart of Lions 2-1 at the start of the second round of the Glo Premier League in their match at the Gyamfi Park at Ashanti Bekwai on Sunday.

All the goals came were scored during the first half. Edubiase scored the opener in the 19th minute through Emmanuel Baffour before Lions' Gladson Awako leveled up the scores through a spot-kick in the 22nd minute.

From then the homesters put pressure to bear on Lions and succeeded in taking the lead in the 40th minute when Alhassan Nuhu connected home a Richard Adjei's cross.

The second half saw lions struggling hard to level up the scores but the defence of Edubiase stood gallantly to thwart all their efforts until FIFA Referee Thomas Nunoo whistled for the end of proceedings.
