New Edubiase Captain Handed Liverpool Trial

New Edubiase United captain Mumuni Abubakar has been handed a two-week trial session by English Premier League giants Liverpool, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The versatile midfielder was spotted early this month while on tour with Ghana’s Under-20 in Italy.

The 18-year-old impressed as a holding midfielder for Black Satellites in their slim 1-0 defeat to Parma and Liverpool want to further assess.

He is expected in Liverpool before the turn of the year and must put in an impressive shift to convince the Reds technical team.

“It sounds too good to be true for many but this a letter signed Liverpool Director of Football Damien Comolli,” Fifa agent Oliver Arthur told GHANAsoccernet.com

“Mumuni is one of the emerging talents in the Glo Premier League and in the match against the senior side of Parma, he was highly impressive.

“We at Arthurlegacy said the trip to Italy will open doors and this is just the beginning. Apart from the exposure, our boys can earn moves to big clubs where they can learn.”

Abubakar was named last season’s Sports Writers Association of Ghana Premier League Most Valuable Player.

He was a member of the Ghana Under-23 team which won a historic gold medal at this year’s All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.
