National Women Supporters Union salutes Queens

Accra, Nov 13, GNA - The National Women Supporters Union (NAWSU) has saluted the Black Queens for excelling at the just ended African Women Championship (AWC) held in Nigeria.

The Queens picked silver after a 0-1 defeat to the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the finals played at the Warri City Stadium last Saturday. A statement signed by Gifty Mills, Acting Secretary of the Union described the Queens' achievement as unparallel to any in the annuals of Ghana football.

It said, 'You have made Ghana proud, especially women'. She said, 'We know the road ahead is rough, but we are convinced that with dedication, commitment and unity, the sky will be your limit'.

The Queens will represent Africa alongside Nigeria at the next FIFA World Cup slated for the Republic of China in 2007.
