National Middle League fixed for Jan 18,

Accra, Jan 6, GNA - The Division One League (DOL) Board has fixed the 2006 edition of the National Middle League between Wednesday, January 18 and February 1.

The league, which is now known, as "Fun Play National Middle League" will be played at four main centres namely the Obuasi, Cape Coast, Sekondi and Tema Sports Stadia.

The qualified clubs have therefore been summoned to attend a consultative meeting at the secretariat of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Monday, January 16, to prepare the fixtures for the competition as well as fashion out modalities of the event. A statement signed by Mr Douglass Djarbeng, Chairman of DOL said a flat rate of 10,000 cedis will be charged at the designated venues that would entitle a ticket holder to one Triple instant scratch card with a chance of winning up to about 10,000 cedis.

The sponsors would present each of the participating clubs with cheques covering officiating fees, transportation, accommodation and meals for players and officials.

The statement said each of the club would also receive two sets of branded jerseys as well as six footballs to prepare for the competition. The arrangements are part of the sponsorship deal between DOL and Fun Play Ghana Limited, official sponsors of the competition. So far four clubs, Accra Great Olympics, Swedru All Blacks, Wise Fighters and Tema Youth are the participating clubs.

Meanwhile in a related development, the play- off between Okwawu United and the third placed team in the forthcoming Fun Play National Middle League has been fixed for February 5.

An Awards night would also be held on February 18.
