Sudan-based Augustine Okra says he working the extra shift to impress for a Black Stars call-up for the 2017 Nations Cup squad.

The 23-year old Al Merreikh star says he is doing enough to merit a spot in the Ghana squad as he concurs "not playing in Europe mean I'll have to give the extra shift to stand the chance.''

''My creative play is arguably the best in Sudan and I score goals too but that has not been enough. I am putting in the extra shift and hope my exploits in the next few months will impress [Avram] Grant for me to make the Nations Cup squad,'' Okrah added.

Okrah burst onto the scene in 2014, winning top scorer and MVP awards in the Ghana Premier League.

Injury hampered his move to Hacken (Sweden) and he ended up in Sudan.

Okrah is generally regarded as the most creative player in Sudan and he expected to leave Sudan when his contract expires in November, in search of an upgrade.

Considering his talent, analyst have in the past couple of years anticipated his national team debut.
