Muntari vows to fight on at Inter Milan

Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has vowed to fight for his place at Italian side Inter Milan after his difficult start to the season.

The enforcer told MTNFootball.com in an exclusive interview that he is focused on his duties with the Serie A side in the wake of the sacking of coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

The Ghana international was linked with moves to England and Turkey at the start of the season after being declared surplus to requirements by the departed trainer.

He was booed during the match against AS Roma over the weekend when he came on as a substitute.

Despite the difficulties he has faced with at the Serie A side, Muntari insists he will fight on.

"I am not a quitter. I am a fighter and I will continue to fight in training and during the matches to win the doubters over," Muntari told MTNFootball.com.

"In every facet of life people go through difficulties. You face the difficulties and continue to work hard to ensure that you are back to your best.

"This is what I am doing and I am determined to stay and fight to return to the starting 11."

Asked if the sacking of coach Gasperini would improve his fortunes at the club, the Ghana international says he is focused on his duties.

"It is sad to see the coach go but that is the life of working in football. At the moment I am concentrating on winning my place back in the starting team."

Gasperini was dismissed on Wednesday after less than three months in charge, leaving the Nerazzurri searching for their fourth new coach in the last 15 months.

Inter finished second in the Serie A last season to arch rivals AC Milan but have yet to win a game this term.

They travel to face Bologna on Saturday before playing Russian side CSKA Moscow in the Champions League four days later.

Muntari has struggled to settle at Inter and show his best form after a £12million move from Portsmouth in 2008.

Sunderland managed to negotiate a significant reduction in salary and sign him on loan in January, but the Ghanaian only made nine league appearances before being shipped back to Italy.
