Muntari to join Sunderland on loan from Inter

SULLEY MUNTARI is set to join Sunderland on loan from Inter Milan today.

The Ghana midfielder will complete a switch until the summer - when the Black Cats will have the option to buy him for £6million.

Muntari's agent Fabien Piveteau revealed: "If everything is sorted out with Sunderland he will be going there.

"The other Ghana players at Sunderland - Asamoah Gyan and John Mensah - have told him about the club which has obviously played a part."

Boss Steve Bruce has been looking to bolster his squad after the departure of Darren Bent to Aston Villa and Muntari will be his first winter signing.

The Ghana powerhouse will return to the Premier League 2½-years after quitting Portsmouth to join the Italian giants in a £14m switch.

Muntari, 26, has grown frustrated on the bench at Inter and is joining Sunderland to ensure more first-team action.

Sunderland have also put in a £4m bid for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Stephane Sessegnon and are still chasing Wigan winger Charles N'Zogbia.
