Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has reiterated that he will make a quicker-than-expected recovery from the serious knee injury he suffered last month.

The AC Milan enforcer is expected to be out for six months after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

He underwent surgery to correct the problem.

The Ghana star incurred the wrath of Milan CEO Adriano Galliani for sustaining the freakish injury.

Earlier reports claimed Milan were ready to slash his salary for the injury he picked up while on holidays in his native country.

But the 27-year-old insists he will soon regain full fitness and rejoin the Rossoneri for the upcoming campaign.

“I will return soon because my knee ligament wasn’t that damaged and every day I’m working with a lot of will and desire,” Muntari is quoted as saying on Tuttosport.

“Adriano Galliani was furious when he heard about my injury and how it happened. He was right to be furious. It’s another motive for me to return soon.

“That way Galliani will forget about it, and I’ll make him happy again. It has happened that I got injured during my vacation, but it won’t happen again.

“If I’ll be out for 6 months? No, I will definitely return in 2012.”

Milan have since brought in Kevin Constant on loan from Genoa as Muntari’s replacement.

Muntari joined Milan on loan from town-rivals Inter in January where he made 14 appearances in all competitions and scored three goals.
