Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has endorsed the call-ups of coach Kwasi Appiah for the crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan.

Appiah has come under immense pressure following the poor performance of the Black Stars at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Many have questioned the selection criteria of the ex-Ghana captain especially after Marseille striker Jordan Ayew was excluded from the Nations Cup squad.

But Muntari has jumped to the defence of the technical head, saying his decisions must be respected.

“Our manager is great, stuff didn’t go well during the African Cup but he is very cool, he and his assistant,” the AC Milan ace said.

“He is the boss so he can choose whoever he wants to be in the national team. The guys here are great and they are training good and they are very respectful.

“You can have good players and stuff like that but if no one respects and stuff like that you won’t be able to go far,” he added.

Muntari is making a return to the team after missing the Nations Cup in South Africa due to injury.
