Muntari could miss qualifiers through injury

AC Milan has confirmed that midfielder Sulley Muntari has sprained his right knee and so is out of the Italian club’s last Serie A game of the season.

The injury was sustained in Milans 2-4 loss to Muntari’s former club, Inter Milan and it has not yet been determined how long he will be out.

Anything close to a month and he will be out of Ghana’s 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia next month.

With John Mensah and John Paintsil reportedly out of the squad, while suspensions rule out Vorsah for both games and Derek Boateng for the first game, Kwasi Appiah will hope Muntari’s injury is not serious.

Andre Ayew is also unavailable after undergoing a shoulder operation weeks ago.
