Medeama captain Muntari Tagoe believes their opening day defeat to defending champions AshantiGold cannot derail their title ambitions.

The Mauve and Yellows succumbed 2-1 at the Len Clay in a repeat of their Super Cup match played three weeks ago in Accra.

Medeama SC last won an away game in the league almost two years ago when they beat New Edubise United 2-1 at Bekwai on 26 February, 2014.

But captain Tagoe does not believe their away form is a chink in their armour.

"It’s never a worry for us. You just go, you play your best and what happens is what you take.We think we didn't have luck today. We played our best, they got their chances and made good use of it," Tagoe said in a post-match conference.

"It's not a bad game for us. We will go back and make our corrections. This is our first game and I think in our subsequent games to come we will do our best to win some away games for the club."

Medeama's next away fixture is against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on 06 March, 2016.
