Munkaila, Yahaya returned unopposed in polls

Salifu Shaibu Zida has been elected chairman of the Upper East Region Football Association and to the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association by delegates in the region.

The newly-elected pulled 37 votes, three more than Dagbila Gambila Boison's 34 to win a close contest on Wednesday.

Yakubu Braimah withdrew from the race which recorded two absentee voters and two spoilt ballots.

In the Northern Region polls, Adam Munkaila retained his seat after pulling 61 votes against Karimu Mama Star;s 37 votes.

Alhaji D. S. Yahaya was returned unopposed as the chairman of the Upper West Football Association after going to the polls as the sole candidate.

Northern Region

Adam Munkaila - 61 votes Karimu Mama Star - 37 votes

Upper East Region

Salifu Shaibu Zida - 37 votes Yakubu Braimah - Withdrew from the race Dagbila Gambila Boison - 34 votes

Upper West Region

Alhaji D. S. Yahaya - Returned unopposed
