Monchengladbach eye Adu Sarpei

...Akonnor to move on...
Reports from Germany suggest Borussia Monchengladbach is poised to bid for VFL Wolfsburg’s defensive utility man Hans Sarpei.

The 27-year-old Ghanaian has been in consistent form this season at the Volkswagen Arena and his advisor Norbert Nasse has now revealed The Foals’ interest in his client.

Nasse admitted: "We have an offer from Monchengladbach on the table and have also been in contact with another two clubs."

Sarpei’s contract with Wolfsburg expires at the end of the current campaign and the player is yet to start negotiations regarding an extension.

"We hope to be talking to Wolfsburg in January, but general manager Peter Pander is always on his travels," added Nasse.

Meanwhile, fellow Ghanaian Charles Akonnor could also be soon departing from Wolfsburg.

The out-of-favour former captain has been relegated to the reserves under coach Jurgen Rober and Nasse has speculated that a January move to Cologne is a real possibility.
