Ministry of Youth and Sports sends congratulatory message to Hayatou

Accra Jan. 23, GNA - The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports on Friday sent a congratulatory message to Mr Issa Hayatou on his re-election as the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

In a message signed by the sector minister, Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu and copied to the GNA Sports, the ministry said it is with much pleasure that they have learnt of the overwhelming way Hayatou was re-elected as President of the confederation.

The Minister said "there is no doubt that your re-election is the result of the efficient and effective manner in which you have been steering the affairs of the Confederation".

Mr Baah-Wiredu said on behalf of the Government of Ghana and the people and on behalf of the ministry, "we wish to congratulate you on this resounding victory, with the hope that under your inspiring and able leadership, African football will continue to blossom to the expectation and glory of all Africans.

The Minister wished the re-elected President a fruitful term of office and the ability to steer African football to its expected goals as well as wished him a happy New Year.
