Ministry congratulates Starlets on victory

Accra, Aug. 20, GNA - The Ministry of Education, Science and Sports (MESS) on behalf of government and people sent its congratulations to the National Under-17 team, the Black Starlets for the 4-1 victory over Trinidad and Tobago in their opening game of the Federation International Football Association (FIFA) Under-17 World Cup tournament underway in South Korea.

A statement signed by the sector Minister, Professor Dominic K. Fobih copied to the GNA Sports on Monday said, "I wish on behalf of the government and people of Ghana and on my own behalf to congratulate you on your splendid performance in Monday's match that ensured your convincing victory.

I trust that this sweet victory will spur you on to conquer all opponents along your path to victory. The whole nation looks forward to welcoming you back with the ultimate- the trophy," the statement added. The Starlets will next take on Germany in their second game on Thursday, August 23 and are currently on top of the group with the maximum three points. 20 Aug. 07
