Minister of Youth and Sports congratulates Stars for qualification

Accra, Feb. 2, GNA – The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Clement Kofi Humado has congratulated the Black stars for their qualification to the quarter final stage of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament (AFCON 2012), being hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

Mr Humado said the dream of Ghanaians and the Stars for winning the ultimate Cup is on course and therefore urged the team to be resolute and steadfast in their approach to face Tunisia in their quarter finals match.

Mr Michael Frimpong, Assistant Public Relations Officer of the Ministry in a goodwill message to the Stars on behalf of the Minister copied to GNA Sports, said “I must once again commend the Black Stars, the technical and management teams for their magnificent work at the on-going tournament”.

The Minister added that :the players’ attitude have been fantastic and I know they are prepared to make the whole nation proud by beating Tunisia and other opponents and to eventually lift the trophy for mother Ghana.

Mr Humado also congratulated the Stars for their tactical discipline and resilience in the match against Guinea on Wednesday, which they drew 1-1 to qualify for the quarter-finals”.

He assured the team and technical bench of the usual government support and assistance and promised to be in Gabon to support the team in their match against Tunisia and in subsequent matches and called on Ghanaians to lend their prayers to the success of the Stars.
