Milo sobs over Appiah's club search woes

Accra, Jan. 27, GNA - Stars coach Milovan Rajevac is unhappy about the inability of his captain Stephen Appiah to land a club.

With five days to the closure of the winter transfer window, the Stars skipper's fate is still undecided after interest from English Premiership side; Tottenham Hotspurs has waned to an all-time low. Currently, Scottish Premier League side, Celtic looks the probable destination for the former Fenerbache midfielder before the January 31 deadline.

Milovan told GNA Sports that he expects Appiah, who has been club-less for 18-months to get attached before the deadline.

The Serb said the Stars skipper needs competitive and regular action to rediscover his old self and lead the team to glory.

"Appiah has a big personality and his presence alone is enough a booster for the team. And when John Mensah and Michael Essien are injured, then we need him the more."

He was emphatic that the SWAG Sports Personality of the Year 2006 will forever remain an integral part of his team, even if his bid to land a club fall on rocks.
"He will forever be part of my plans. His presence is important to the team coupled with his inspirational qualities." Milo was however, categorical that Appiah's might not merit an automatic spot in the team if he remains unattached.
"We will invite him for all games, featuring prominently will be subject to his fitness and output."
Meanwhile, Appiah has been named in the 20-man squad to face Egypt in an international friendly on Tuesday, February 11 in Cairo.
