Mighty Jets beat B.A. Stars in an away encounter

Sunyani, (B/A), Dec. 6, GNA - Visiting Tudu Mighty Jets on Sunday defeated B.A. Stars 2-1 in their 17th-week Glo Premier League match played at the Sunyani Coronation Park.

The visiting team led 2-0 at the end of the first half. The performance B.A. Stars' was adjudged one of the worst at their home to be put up by the players since the league started and it was no wonder they went down in the first half to a better composed Jets side. Mighty Jet's two goals were both scored from defensive blunders by the home team when in in the 10th minute Abubakari Sadick capitalized on Sulemana

Mamudu's weak anticipation in his goal area to bang in the opener. The visitors who played a better game, especially in the first half increased their lead through Sadick again in the 28th minute to end the first half in their favour.

The poor show exhibited by the home team was so disgraceful that at the end of the first half the players could not leave the field to the dressing room because of the open threat by their supporters who threatened to discipline them. The players of Mighty Jets enjoyed the support of the home fans as they confidently moved to the dressing room amid surprising cheers even from the die hard home supporters.

B.A. Stars who seemed to have obviously learnt a lesson from their drab first half performance and the resultant threat by their supporters, the team captained by Amos Kwasi Frimpong resumed the second half and played a better game.

Their efforts were rewarded when in the 63rd minute substitute Bawah Mohammed scored the only consolation goal for his side. For the first time in recent times at the Coronation Park, most of supporters of B.A. Stars were openly seen cheering the officiating referees made up of the man in the center, Sylvester Adwugu and his two assistants Godwin Opoku and Benjamin Demawo for what they described as a job well done.
