Middlesbrough boss rules out winter signings over Adomah

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has ruled out any possibility of signing an attacker this winter because of the array of forwards they have.

The Riverside manager insists Ghana’s Africa Cup of Nations reject Albert Adomah and others have what it takes to lead the club to glory.

“I couldn’t say last season that we had a lot of quality but this season I can say we have Jelle, we have Kike, we have Patrick, we have Tommo (Lee Tomlin), we have Albert (Adomah), we have a lot of players who can score goals, but we have to improve,” Karanka told Gazzette.

Karanka welcomed Adomah’s Ghana Afcon snub with great happiness as he was not keen to let the winger go.

The former Madrid assistant coach has emphasised that Adomah will be key to his side's quest for Premiership qualification.
