Asante Kotoko midfielder, Michael Akuffo is highly optimistic that the Kumasi based club will reach an agreement with Lebanese top-flight side, Al Ansar for his transfer.

The former Feyernood[now WAFA] trainee traveled to Lebanon two weeks ago to complete his move to the Ansar based club but the deal fell through after a sheer disagreement between the Lebanese side and his mother club Asante Kotoko.

Due to that, Michael Akuffo returned to Ghana on Thursday after he was instructed by Asante Kotoko and he will be returning back to Lebanon if an agreement is reached between Al Ansar and the Ghana giants.

However, the 27 year old midfielder is highly optimistic Asante Kotoko will reach an agreement with Al Ansar for his transfer thus rubbishing claims that his protracted move to the Lebanese club has collapsed.

“I returned to Ghana because Asante Kotoko and Al Ansar are still discussing about my transfer and I’m optimistic that they will reach an agreement for my transfer," Michael Akuffo exclusively told Allsports.com.gh.

“It is not true the deal has collapsed is just that the two clubs didn’t agreed on certain issues but I’m sure they will come to an agreement and I will be returning to Lebanon soon,” he explained.

Akuffo is likely to feature for Asante Kotoko against BA United this Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on match day 28 of the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League.
