Mfantsiman Utd loses third match

Cape Coast (Central Region) - Mfantsiman United's hope of being promoted to the first division was shattered when they lost their third march 2-0 to Kasoa "God is King" in their central region second division super zonal promotion league at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Saturday.

United seized the mid-field and kept their opponents goal area boiling but their forwards failed to utilize the chances that came their way and ended the first half scoreless. On resumption God Is Great forced the tide in their favour and following a two-man move, outside left, Francis Allen, scored the opener in the 67th minute.

Mfantsiman United took control of affairs in the 70th minute and forced God Is Great into their own half and nearly equalised but centre forward, John Beduson with only the goalkeeper to beat shot over the bar. However in the 83rd minute, Kennedy who played a yeoman's game mounted the tally to 2-0 with sizzling shot.

In another development, Metro Stars recorded their first victory when they beat King Hussein 2-0 in their Central Region second division super Zonal promotion league played at the Cape Coast sports stadium on Saturday. After a goalless first half, Hussein marched their opponent's boot for

Boot and twice came close to scoring but they wasted the chances.

Metro Stars came into the picture in the 50th minute and after dictating the pace for some time opened the scoring through centre half, Mohammed Mugei, in the 56th minute. Hussein made a number of changes and made frantic efforts to equalise but the changes did not deter Metro Stars from increasing the tally to 2-0 through Ahmed Bashiru in the 88th minute
