Merreikh's Okrah happy with scoring form

Former Ghana Premier League top scorer Augustine Okrah believes he is experiencing his best form so far in the Sudan Premier League after scoring two goals for his side Al Merreikh who defeated Merrikh Kosti 2-0 on Wednesday.

The former Bechem United forward broke the deadlock in first half with a powerful long-range strike before completing a brace with a header from a cross delivered by fellow Ghanaian Francis Coffie to open a five-point lead on the log over rivals Al Hilal.

Merreikh also took a giant step in the Caf Champions League last week when they defeated 10-man Algerian side MC Eulma 2-0 at home in the opening group games.

Okrah insists that he is expecting a much improved performance towards the end of the season.

“It was a good game and a good performance from me I must admit. The season hasn't been all that perfect for me but I know the best is yet to come,” Okrah told Goal.

“I believe I would be able to build on my improvement at Merreikh both in the league and in the continental competition.

"We are leading the league and still participating in the Caf Champions League as well. So, I'm hoping we achieve something great as the season comes to an end."

Okrah scored 16 goals during the 2013-14 Ghana Premier League to win both the top scorer and best player awards which earned him a six-month loan deal to Swedish side BK Hacken before joining Al Merreikh last November.
