Mensah passes Sunderland medical

Ghana deputy captain, John Mensah, looks set to complete his switch to English side Sunderland after passing his medical. The 26-year-old, who plays for French side Lyon, successfully underwent the medical examination in France ahead of his one-year loan deal.

The medicals which started at 9am French time was over in 30 minutes with Sunderland expecting the report from the dcotors to confirm the move.

“I have finished with the medical examination and by the grace of God it was successful,” Mensah told his official website Johntherock5.com.

“Now I'm waiting for the Sunderland doctor to give me the details of the report which Dr. Denis Bossard gave to me.”

This means the transfer deal is almost through and, if everything goes on smoothly, John Mensah will become a Sunderland player by the close of the week.
