Medeama SC has denied claims indicating head coach Tom Strand has gone AWOL.

Reports were rife in the media the coach has left the Club without an excuse from management.

This came after the Swedish trainer was missing from the bench in their outstanding League game against Inter-Allies on Wednesday.

The Takwa-based Club has however denied reports hinting the 36-year-old had left without permission.

A statement released by the Club read: Medeama would like to deny widespread media reports claiming coach Tom Strand has gone AWOL.

Strand is currently at his residence in Tarkwa and so reports that he is ‘lost’ must be disregarded.

However, management is concerned about his attitude in recent weeks and will hold a crunch meeting with him today (Thursday) to take a definite decision.

He has not trained the team since Monday and failed to show up for our deserved Premier League win over Inter Allies on Wednesday.

The club top hierarchy is concerned about the growing situation involving our coach and will announce in due course the next line of action.

We would like to assure our teeming supporters that we remain focus and resolute in our quest to make the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup and make a significant impact in the domestic league.

The CAF Confederations Cup campaigners are preparing for their upcoming League game against WA All Stars on Sunday.
