Medeama SC set to sign Coach Walker

Footy-ghana.com understands that Premier League side Medeama SC is set to sign coach Annor Walker on a two-year deal. The Mauves and Yellows’ quest to appoint former Bechem United trainer, Tom Strand as Prince Owusu’s replacement has hit a snag, after the Swede traveled out of the country. Speaking to Kumasi-based Fox FM, the club’s Public Relations Officer, Tony Nkrumah Boateng revealed that, the club was on the verge of completing a proposed deal with Strand, but his unexpected trip abroad brought everything to a halt.

He noted that the Tarkwa-based outfit will announce the new coach soon but did not rule out Strand.

‘"Tom Strand traveled abroad and we’re yet to hear from him, and we cannot wait for him, knowing that the league starts on January 18. So we’re training. When he returns we’ll thrash out some few issues with him. If he doesn’t come we have an alternative. I cannot talk about any coach’s contract now because it must be confidential but all what I can say is we’re weighing options.’’

Annor, a former youth coach of Berekum Chelsea and Nania FC, is expected to put pen to paper by Monday.
