Maxbees protest against referee

The management of Maxbees Football Club has protested against the appointment of referee R.Y. Kwabo for their crucial league match against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Koforidua Stadium tomorrow.

A letter signed by the team manager of the club, Sarbahn Quaye, attributed their stance to the manner Referee Kwabo handled their league match against Kotoko last season which ended 0-4 in favour of the latter.

"We hope this request will be highly considered in the supreme interest of the game and our supporters as Mr Kwabo can handle any of our matches but not this one", the letter stressed.

The protest letter, which was addressed to the Referees Appointment Committee, was channelled through the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association.

In a related development, the club has announced that a flat fee of ?10,000 will be charged during their match against Kotoko.
